TOUR GAMES
TOUR GAMES
These are some games to play if your in a band or on a long journey with a load of semi alcoholics.
Sentenceses
Number Of Players: 3+
Quiz master: nope
Game time: infinite
Difficulty: easy
Winner: all winners
Game over when: you get bored
Basically the first person starts the sentence with one word and the next person continues ad infinitum. We usually start with one of the players names but you can start with any word really. Bridging words like “when” and “was” keep the game going and help the sentence. For example player one says “Graham”, player two say “touched”, player three says “his”, and player four says “withered”… and the game goes on.
The Add Game
Number Of Players: 2+
Quiz master: yes
Game time: 10 minutes
Difficulty: medium
Winner: all winners
Game over when: you run out of questions to ask or you hit the services
Basically you get one of those really bad adverts that you find in the free magazine you get with a cheap red top paper at the weekends (if it’s not the weekend you should be able to find a suitable advert in the regular paper). The best adds are the ones that are for hearing aides or commemorative plates with a picture of a royal event on them. One person has the advert and is the quiz master asking questions about the add like, how much is it?, how long will it take to arrive?, what is the telephone number? etc. There is quite often a celebrity endorsement or quotes which offer themselves up for good questions. The quiz master asks the questions and people buzz in with the answers (everyone chooses a noise to make as a buzzer).
I’m A Wrong’un
Number Of Players: 2+
Quiz master: yes
Game time: open ended
Difficulty: medium
Winner: the one who guess the wrong’un
Game over when: you are bored or run out of wrong’uns
Basically one person picks a wrong’un, for example Fred West, and the others have to guess by asking questions like “are you a killer” or “are you in prison”. The game starts with one person saying “I’m a wrong’un, I’m a wrong’un, which wrong’un am I?” then you go round the rest of the group asking questions in turn to narrow it down to work out the identity of the wrong’un. The person being asked assumes the identity of the wrong’un when answering the question. The person who guesses the identity of the wrong’un has the next go.
Psychic Wardrobe
Number Of Players: 2+
Quiz master: yes
Game time: open ended
Difficulty: medium
Winner: the one who guess who is the dead celeb
Game over when: you are bored or run out of dead people celebs
Basically it’s the same as I’m A Wrong’un but instead of a wrong’un you guess a dead celeb. Questions like “did you kill anyone” or “were you in a film” are asked and the person in the wardrobe does one knock of yes and two knocks for no, they are not really in a wardrobe you just knkock on something. As with I’m A Wrong’un the person who guesses gets in the wardrobe.
I’m A Coin
Number Of Players: 2+
Quiz master: yes
Game time: open ended
Difficulty: easy
Winner: who guesses
Game over when: when you get home as this game goes on forever
Basically you say “I’m a coin, I’m a coin, what coin am I”. People have to guess which coin you are. Then you ask anything you like, for example, “I’m a sandwich, ’m a sandwich, what sandwich am I” or “I’m a mode of transport, ’m a mode of transport, what mode of transport am I”. You can either alternate people or one person asks the questions. Fun
Name Three Things
Number Of Players: 2+
Quiz master: yes
Game time: open ended
Difficulty: medium
Winner: everyone
Game over when: when you get home as this game goes on forever
Basically one of the group as a question like, “name three things that fly” or “name three things you can put in your body” and the others have to name three things (there maybe more than three things but only three things are required). The idea is to keep coming up with the questions as fast as possible and if you leave a long pause between the questions then you loose and another person takes over asking the questions.
Brian Dean, Dean Saunders
Number Of Players: 3+
Quiz master: nope
Game time: open ended
Difficulty: medium
Winner: the person who says “House Party”
Game over when: when someone says “House Party”
Basically you start with the first person saying “Dean Saunders” the next person says, “Saunders Foot”, then the next person says “football” and the game begins. The next person has to say a word or phrase that starts with the last word of the last person’s phrase, so the next person could say, for instance, “ball bag”, and so on…
There are bonus rounds when you make the words or phrase fit by putting on various accents, i.e. the Italian bonus round.
The object of the game is to get to the phrase “House Party”, then the game is complete and you start again with the next person saying “Dean Saunders” etc.
